There is to be found in the Rue de
la Paix in Eze-Village a warm, convivial studio-cum-gallery. This
is like a window opening onto Provence.
The artist, Marc Ferrero, has grown up there. A childhood spent in
his grand-father's old oil mill has made him familiar with the secrets
of Provence.
For, if it is easy to fall for the charms of Provence, real Provence
doesn't open up at first sight and must be discovered.
This is precisely what Marc Ferrero's painting allows you to do.
One then understands that Provence is a land of riches in the rough.
Marc gives them expression through an abundance of materials and
the great liveliness of his palette.
And Marc Ferrero also tries, beyond mere representation, to convey
to us through his paintings the true spirit, the soul of Provence,
what one perceives when one has a living experience of it , which
he succeeds in doing. Everything in his paintings tempts one to
peace!
That is probably one of the reasons why the "Château
de la Chèvre d'or" asked him for his collaboration in
the decoration of the rooms.
Next to his studio, the small grotto that is his gallery is imbued
with a spirit of authenticity: to frame his paintings Marc Ferrero
calls on a craftsman whose family has carved, sculpted and gilded
for generations; each frame is hand-made. In the same spirit, the
artist tries to express himself on other noble supports.
He is currently working on the creation of unique pieces of decoration
harmonizing with his painting.
